Simply come to Ubin on 16 Jul (Sun) as R.U.M. joins the fun for the Grand Finale of Pesta Ubin.


What are mangroves? Mangroves can eat or not? Learn about this exciting ground-up community effort to restore mangroves at Ubin.  See awesome mangrove specimens, learn about studies of  Ubin mangroves, and MORE!

Meet the crazy R.U.M. volunteers aka RUMblers. Learn how they hope, through the Ecological Mangrove Restoration method, to naturally restore mangroves at abandoned aquaculture ponds on Pulau Ubin. And how YOU too can make a difference for Ubin mangroves.

Join our FREE walking tour of Ubin's mangroves near Ubin Town. We're excited to share about the mangroves of Ubin and how the Restore Ubin Mangroves Initiative (R.U.M.) hopes to use Ecological Mangrove Restoration to bring mangroves back to abandoned aquaculture ponds.
Suitable for kids and the family. And those who want to learn more about Ubin mangroves and have a glimpse of Ubin kampung life. Along the way, we will explore the Ubin kampung way of life.

Free mangrove walk with Restore Ubin Mangroves (R.U.M.) Initiative

  • Children welcomed, but to be accompanied by parent/guardian.
  • Route includes earthen trails (not suitable for prams or wheelchairs). Route is about 3km.
  • In case of heavy rain, the walk may be delayed but not cancelled. The walk continues in light rain if there is no lightning.

Time: Morning tour starts 11.30am, afternoon tour starts 2.30pm
Meeting Point: Get your FREE ticket half-an-hour before the tour starts at the R.U.M. booth, Assembly Area, Pulau Ubin (map).
